How to make your manicure last for weeks! (Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, Barry M Basecoat Topcoat & Nail Hardener All In One)

This post is sharing my nail secrets since I hear many friends complaining about how their nails don't last.

1) Technique

Apply a base coat + nail polish + top coat.

These steps will help to protect your nails and seal in your nail colour.

Also, be careful not to apply too many coats of nail polish, as too thick a layer will make it very easy to chip.

2) Top Coat

This is the primary secret.

The best top coat I have used is the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

"widely acknowledged as the worlds finest top coat. Its patented formula penetrates through the nail laquer to the base coat forming a single solid coating over the nail plate for a much durable finish, guaranteed not to yellow and leaves nails silky, stronger and resistant to chipping and peeling."

This comes from their website and I totally agree. Available here!

I also really like the Barry M All In One Basecoat Topcoat & Nail Hardener. It works just as advertises, and I really like using it as a topcoat. It is also a more affordable option and easily available in the UK.

My nails usually last about 2-3 weeks. Investing in a top coat means you actually save more money by not needing to get your nails done so often.

Invest in a top coat today! :)

Review: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack

Product: Laniege Water Sleeping Pack

A korean product which has a gel consistency. You apply it on your face at night and it functions as a leave-in overnight mask.

What I like about it:

Smells good, easy to apply, dries very quickly on your face as a transparent film. You can easily sleep with it and it will not transfer to your pillow.

When I wake up, my face feels very soft and supple.

What I dislike about it:

Does not seem to have intense hydrating functions. A little disappointed since I expected an overnight mask to be much more moisturizing. I would rate the moisturizing abilities to that of a simple day moisturizer.

Overall, the novelty of it seems to be the highlight. It comes in a huge tub so it is actually quite affordable. Does not break me out or irritate my sensitive skin so I will just continue using it.

Probably suitable for oily skin or climates which are warmer.

Review: Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

Product: Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

I use this on occassions where I am out and about and need to remove my make up quickly.

What I like about it:

Removes all my make up including stubborn water proof mascara. Face feels refreshed and clean.

Does not irritate my sensitive skin at all, including the delicate eye area.

What I dislike about it:

In the long run, I prefer cleansers as it is probably more affordable but I have heard of people ripping each sheet into half to make it more value for money.

This is probably my favourite make up wipes for sensitive skin.

Review: Johnson's fragrance free facial cleansing wipes

Product: Johnson's fragrance free facial cleansing wipes

What I like about it:

Takes off all my make up including water-proof mascara. Pleasant scent (even though it says 100% perfume free). The sheets are pretty large, moist and soft on the face.

What I dislike about it:

I have very sensitive skin, I cannot use anything with scent or too much chemicals. When I used these wipes the first 2 times, my eyes were mildy irritated. I thought I could live with it as long as I avoided my eyes. However, the subsequent usage caused my sensitive skin to have a big allergic reaction. Red inflamed patches throughout my face!

It definitely works and is affordable, but I would not recommend to people with very sensitive skin like mine. The SIMPLE cleansing wipes are much better and do not irritate my skin.
